Gotta Get Me One Of Those! By guest writer Thomas Stephens (http://youtune.tumblr.com)
Posted 11:26 by Thomas 'Megzy' Merrigan inI know Megzy from studying music at uni, and had the pleasure of working with him on a few tracks. I've been reading Megzy's Gibberish, and as a more rock-orientated musician I wanted to let him (and you) know about the t-shirts of Strokes front man, Julian Casablancas.
The Strokes broke through with their debut album Is This It in 2001, with songs like Someday and Last Nite, they're still highly respected today.
But I always find it refreshing that he doesn't dress up like your typical indie boy.
Here's my number 3, Red Stripe tee. These seem to be hard to find online, but there are Red Stripe tees to be found at http://www.teeshirtsrock.com/vintageredstripebeert-shirt.aspx
Number 2 - MJ. What a legend. There are also lots of MJ shirts here, including even a replica of that legendary red jacket - http://www.chasingthefrog.com/michaeljackson-t-shirts.php
Number 1 - Absolutely love this one. So simple but retro and awesome. You can buy this shirt here: http://www.cool-retro-tshirts.co.uk/tshirt.php?id=glow-in-the-dark-ghostbusters-t-shirt and they also have a grrreat range of Ghostbuster shirts.
I reckon its just good to see someone who wears what they want, not a band who dress up in identical colours or indie boy stripes. Nothing wrong with just putting your personality across sometimes and people sometimes try to conform too much in indie at the moment.
